2020 Grants

The foundation gifted $350,000 in Clark and Cowlitz counties in 2020 in line with their vision & mission statement. Due to COVID restrictions Executive Director Kay Dalke-Sheadel was unable to present grant checks to these organizations in person this year:


Education total: $167,222

Vancouver Public Schools Foundation

$10,000 to be used to provide professional development for teachers and staff through the CLEAR program integrating trauma-informed practices into the school environment.


Lower Columbia College Foundation


$15,000 to be used for Scholarships, tuition and fees.


Battle Ground Education Foundation


$20,000 to be used for purchase of chrome books for online learning.


Lower Columbia School Gardens


$5,000 to be used for open Garden learning during summer and fall and $5,000 to be used to provide Gap Funds for unfunded Program.


Mount St. Helens Institute


$17,463 to be used to support distance learning and STEM skills.


Children’s Discovery Museum


$10,000 to be used to upgrade present facilities to include donated exhibits received from OMSI.


Clark College Foundation


$40,000 to be used for funding virtual simulation software and $15,000 to be used for scholarships and emergency fund.


Youth and Family Link


$4,984 to be used for Group Mentoring.


Cascadia Technical Academy


$14,775 to be used for Cascadia students for Fire-Training in Astoria.


Evergreen Habitat for Humanity


$10,000 to be used to support the Evergreen High School Geometry in Construction class to build the frame of a house up to the drywall on high school property to be transferred to Habitat property to be sold to low-income individuals.

Sunshine Physically Handicapped


$4,000 to be used for learning and recreation for disabled children.

$5,000 to be used for diapers for low income families.


Lifeline Connections


$10,000 to be used for connecting primary care and behavioral health care.


North County Food Bank


$10,000 to be used for food boxes.


Community Health Partners


$5,000 to be used for medical supplies related to COVID19.


Shriners Hospital for Children


$5,000 to be used to upgrade Audio Visual equipment.


FISH of Vancouver


$15,000 to be used for emergency food supplies.


Lions Sight Foundation of Clark County


$10,000 to be used for free eyeglasses, exams and surgeries.


FISH of Cowlitz County


$10,000 to be used for bulk milk for protein for low income.


Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation


$5,000 to be used for emergency food for discharged patients.


Area Agency on Aging and Disabilities

$10,000 to be used for transportation for seniors to and from Doctors appointments.


Free Clinic of SW Washington


$10,000 to be used to update and implement current delivery systems.


Community House on Broadway


$15,000 to be used for operating costs related to COVID19.

$15,000 to be used for Tele-therapy for delivery to vulnerable population.


Hello Life Eating Disorder Recovery


$2,500 to be used for mentors, education, financial and support groups.

Columbia Springs


$6,600 to be used for repairs and trail improvements.


Venersborg Historic Preservation Society


$5,000 to be used to install handicap ramp at old schoolhouse.


Camas Washougal Historical Society


$2,500 to assist in funding the cultural and artistic phase of the Native American Gathering place.


Stella Historical Society


$5,218 to be used to shore up Blacksmith Shop.


Ft Vancouver Regional Library Foundation


$5,000 to be used as matching funds to provide funds to assist the Ridgefield Library in the construction and outfitting of a special exhibit and presentation space specifically to enhance historical and culturally diverse program.


Pomeroy Living History Farm


$5,000 to compile, catalog, archive and digitize the collection of photos, documents and artifacts of the historic farm.


Lelooska Foundation


$10,960 to be used for building repairs and record lessons in mask making.


North County Historical Museum


$2,500 to Build an additional cabinet to house native american exhibit and upgrade landscaping.


Longview Outdoor Gallery


$2,500 to assist in purchasing artwork to preserve the artistic beautification and cultural enrichment of Longview.


Kalama Lions Club Foundation


$6,000 to reroof the historical Cloverdale School Building which houses Helping Hand, a provider of food for low income families in Kalama School District.
